March – April 2026

“You are a gardener, not the owner of
the earth.” This sentence came back to my
mind. It was spoken by Eric Lincoln, a
mangrove activist from the forests of
Kalimantan. We are grateful that he could
come to West Sumatra for the Earth Day
commemoration “Alam Takambang Jadi
Guru.”

January – February 2026

Happy New Year 2026. Even though the wounds of 2025 may still remain, life must go on and continue to be meaningful and
beneficial to many people. There is much to be grateful for in this month of February.

January – February 2025

The start of a new year brings countless reasons to be grateful—from the smallest, often overlooked blessings to the grand and obvious ones.

September – October 2024

We are grateful for some of the recent progress at the foundation. In September and October, we opened two new Balai Bamain sites, started English classes for children at Pantai Air Manis, and formed a regular donor group for the foundation. The number of volunteers for Yayasan Perahu Nusantara also continues to grow.

July – August 2024

We are grateful for the renewal of Yayasan Perahu Nusantara’s legal status, allowing us to continue our work with positive impact
on coastal communities. We also appreciate the volunteers who regularly join us at the foundation and the cafe, eager to learn and
grow together. Our connections with other foundations in different regions have strengthened our network, fostering collaboration and mutual support.

March – April 2024

Eid Mubarak! Warm wishes for those who are celebrating Eid al Fitr 1445H and may our good deeds never cease to exist for ourselves and those around us.
