Many coastal communities are dependent on fishing and vulnerable to declining catches or bad weather. Helping people to diversify their income reduces risk.<\/p>

That\u2019s why we see business as a key part of secure livelihoods.<\/p>

We walk alongside people to grow the character and business skills they need to succeed.\u00a0<\/p>

Honesty, cooperation, integrity and perseverance are vital to any sustainable business.<\/p>

These character components, along with practical skills such as simple book-keeping, marketing and writing a business plan, are taught and modelled by our experienced staff using a curriculum we designed. Learning by doing is our approach. We do teach principles but these are always tied to real situations.<\/p>

Participants are encouraged to write business plans and we look for local partners to realize these plans.<\/p>

As fledging businesses grow we continue to mentor people and to encourage them to grow their business to be a benefit for the wider community.<\/p>\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t<\/section>\n\t\t\t\t
